CAN YOU FEEL THE BEAT
At Drumroll Stage and Sushi Pub, we will strive to create a space where people can delight in fresh, healthy food and refreshments by day and a diverse selection of live performances by night, in hopes of building connections among all members of the Geneseo community. We aim to support local industry by stocking products from local restaurants, breweries, distilleries, and wineries. Beyond that, we will help to enhance Geneseo's arts scene by creating a space for local musicians to showcase their work, as well as bringing acts from outside of town for our community to enjoy. Our location at 86 Court Street has a legacy as a community hub in Geneseo, and we hope to keep that legacy alive. The building has a rich history dating back to the early 1900s when it housed a family, a grocery store, a dance hall, and a saloon. In the 1930s it was transformed into the M&B Grill—owned by the Battaglia family who lived in the other half of the building—which hosted weddings, reunions, and their much-anticipated New Year's Eve party. By 1969, it was renamed to The Statesmen, which endured through the mid-2010s and was the site for many evenings of revelry and mischief for Geneseo locals and SUNY Geneseo students alike. As the Statesmen, 86 Court Street continued to host live performances and touted a “Party Room with Dance Floor, up to 350 people.” At Drumroll, we hope to reinvigorate the space and allow it to flourish as a place where people can come together to enjoy
